Hello, my name is Chris Molyneux. I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor and Supervisor offering Person-centred Counselling and Supervision. I have been practising as a counsellor for nearly 20 years and have a great deal of experience with a wide range of client issues and ages.
I have made this website so that you can get a good idea about both Counselling in general and also the way that I work as a Counsellor. If you would like to get in touch with any queries or to book your first session please feel free to do so here.

Having worked as a Counsellor for a number of years, I really believe in both the changes that Counselling can make, as well as the potential and ability that we all have within ourselves for growth and change.
Being able to talk openly to someone else in a confidential and accepting setting can be helpful in itself. It can also help in gaining understanding and acceptance, working through difficulties you are facing and helping you make the changes you wish.
I currently work with adults, adolescents and the elderly. I have had experience working with a wide variety of ages, covering many different issues.
Issues I have extensive experience working with as a Counsellor include:
Anxiety
Depression
Bereavement/Loss
Grief
Anger
Shame
Panic Attacks
Stress
Work-Related IssuesAddictions
Addiction
Abuse
Relationship Issues Low Self-esteem
Low Confidence
Self-harm
Bullying
Family Related Issues
General Unhappiness
Personal Development
I offer Supervision to Counsellors and those in other helping professionals. I really enjoy and cherish my role as a Supervisor and the experiences that it brings. My Supervision work is very much in line with my person-centred approach as a Counsellor and I base my Supervision practice around Tony Merry's idea of 'Collaborative Inquiry':
"An open, empathic and non-judgmental environment that is simultaneously questioning and supportive, promoting congruence and an internal locus of evaluation in the Supervisee.” (Merry, 1999)

Appointments are currently available:
Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays: 10am-5pm
I currently charge £65 for a 50-minute weekly session of individual Counselling. Less regular appointments can be negotiated. Please get in touch for further details and to check availability.
Concessions are available upon request. These are mainly reserved for Counselling students and those on lower incomes but I am happy to discuss this further to meet individual needs.
Sessions are usually 1.5hrs a month (to meet BACP requirements) and are charged at £90. Alternatively, 50 minute sessions are charged at £60 and usually held on a fortnightly basis. Other session lengths are possible to suit individual needs. Please contact for more details.
If you have any further questions or would like to talk about the possibility of working together, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
I have successfully supported all the people that have used me to help in their accreditation process (including the new SCoPEd scheme). As a result, I feel I understand the process well, both from first-hand experience and in a supporting role.
I also have extensive experience of delivering and assessing counselling courses at all levels and frameworks, to a wide range of students. As a result, I also offer support in your academic work and journey in a host of different ways.
Please feel free to get in touch to discuss any of these options further.
